GPAC is excited to see this awareness in the cancer community. Breast cancer patients are a vulnerable population and doctors and surgeons should be accountable for providing all of the risks and complications to patients. Proper informed consent is lacking surrounding breast implant surgeries, both for breast reconstruction and breast augmentation. For this very reason, GPAC is committed to protecting patients by implementing informed consent laws that mandate surgeons to provide the important information that will allow patients to make an educated and informed decision about their health and surgical options after cancer.
