A recent article in Surgical Times Magazine highlights more gaslighting by the plastic surgery community. Once again, patients were not informed. 92 out of 109 patients who were surveyed indicated that their doctor never informed them of the FDA screening recommendations to have an MRI to monitor their breast implants.
For this very reason, GPAC has been working on legislation in several states to ensure that patients have proper informed consent. Patients are not being properly informed and surgeons are not willingly giving the information to patients. It has become blatantly clear that surgeons must be mandated to give proper informed consent, with strict consequences for not doing so.
