Conflict of Interest is Crippling the Plastic Surgery Industry

Medical device conflicts of interest are crippling patients and the plastic surgery industry. Plastic surgery is a multibillion dollar industry and key opinion leaders in plastic surgeon societies accept hundreds of thousands of dollars from medical device companies.

Breast Implant Legislation

Effective January 1, 2022, the state of Arizona implemented legislation to mandate surgeons to provide proper informed consent for breast implant surgery. Patient information will include the GPAC Patient Decision Checklist which will enable patients to make an informed and educated decision about having breast implant surgery.

Arizona Senate Bill SB-1001 will be the model for similar legislation in other states.

ASPS Patient Decision Checklist

GPAC is proud to partner with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in creating the Breast Implant Consensus Patient Decision Checklist which was adopted by ASPS leadership and is available on their website.

Our GPAC team is grateful to have received feedback and such enormous support from patient groups, medical community, and state medical boards and associations in the development of the checklist.

Brockovich Report

GPAC co-founder, Robyn Towt, partners with Erin Brockovich to raise awareness about the dangers of breast implants.

NCCN Guidelines

NCCN 2022 Clinical Guidelines for breast cancer have been updated to include specific information on "flat closure"
as a surgical option after mastectomy.

GPAC breast cancer advocates Robyn Towt and Andrea Ottaiano collaborated with NCCN to implement the new changes.
